Maryam Master
Maryam Master is a novelist and playwright for children and teens. She was born in Iran and moved to Australia when she was nine.
She is published by Pan Macmillan in Australia, where her first novel Exit Through the Gift Shop, was shortlisted for the Prime Minister's Literary Award for children’s fiction 2022, and her second, No Words, based on her own experiences of fleeing persecution, was winner of the Children's Peace Literature Award.
Maryam has adapted three of David Walliams' books for the stage, as well as Oliver Jeffers' The Incredible Book Eating Boy - all of which premiered at the Sydney Opera House and toured across Australia.
